Local Volunteers Needed!

Help Rejuvenate the Trailhead Rain Garden in Bellevue!

Organization: Bellevue Native Plant Society in coordination with Green Bellevue

Your help is needed to revitalize a local rain garden! Bellevue Native Plant Society has been tasked with bringing this rain garden project back to life near the Twin Creek Trailhead near Culver’s in Bellevue. This rain garden sits at the intersection of three major biking trails: The West Papio Trail, Keystone Trail, and the Bellevue Loop.

For the last two years we have been hard at work both battling invasive species and re-introducing beneficial species to the area. We need volunteers to help rake thatch, remove poison hemlock, and scatter Nebraska-native wildflower seed. Put your volunteer hours to good use and help us create a lively habitat for pollinators and humans to enjoy.

Please wear close-toe shoes, tall socks, pants, long sleeve shirt, and garden gloves. Bring a water for yourself. We will supply yard waste bags but if you are able to bring any shovels, soil knives, or rakes along for your own usage, it is much appreciated!
